Built in Taisho 11 (1922), the Changhua Roundhouse belongs to the Taiwan Railway Changhua Locomotive Depot, connected by a central 360-degree turntable to 12 radiating tracks, resembling an opened fan, hence the name.
This is not just a static exhibition site, but a truly operational train maintenance base where locomotive technicians can often be seen maintaining and inspecting steam and electric locomotives, allowing visitors to experience the vitality of trains up close.
